PJD

Working with Phil has completely transformed my business. He has helped me focus my people around core processes after feeling lost and unsure where to take things to the next level. Phil will hold up a mirror, telling you things you don’t want to hear but that will help you to grow. As a result of working with Phil I am a better business owner than I was 12 months ago and plan to be even better in 12 months time.

About The Company

PJD specialises in being a one-stop shop for all electrical, plumbing, and heating needs. They work on commercial and residential projects of all sizes across East Yorkshire, including farms and leisure parks. Established in 2004, they have gained an excellent reputation in the area for their high-quality work and exceptional customer service.

The Challenge

Paul, the owner of PJD, has been successful in growing the business and had reached a point of wanting to make changes to prepare for the next phase of their development. Paul had many ideas and challenges that needed to be worked through, and he wasn’t sure where to start with putting change into practice. Paul was aware that the entire business revolved around him and he was working exceptionally long hours and was unsure how to change this.

Key Results

  • Resources across the business are now mapped to business processes with the right people in the right roles
  • New team members in place have improved productivity
  • Better use of IT has improved efficiency and productivity
  • A clear business plan in place with accountability for action
  • Reduced stress and a clear focus for owner Paul with a refreshed approach to growing the business
  • Paul works fewer hours and can have time off, not worrying that things will not function without him there

My Solution

I worked with Paul over 12 months in a coaching programme. We broke down the business and its processes, identifying daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and ensuring clear roles and lines of responsibility ies across the business. This exercise led to new processes, better IT use, and clear ways of working, freeing Paul to focus on bigger tasks to support growth.
